The Hamas militant group has urged Muslims worldwide to participate in a global “Day of Jihad” or holy war on Friday, the 13th. They’ve referred to this day as “Al-Aqsa Flood Friday,” alluding to the operation during which they were involved in the killing of over 1,200 Israelis, causing injuries to around 3,000 individuals, and kidnapping more than 100. The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) reported on Hamas’s statement:

“We declare next Friday, ‘The Friday of the Al-Aqsa Flood,’ as a day of general mobilization in our Arab and Islamic world and among the free people of the world.

“It is a day to rally support, offer aid, and participate actively.

“It is a day to expose the crimes of the occupation, isolate it, and foil all its aggressive schemes.

“It is a day to demonstrate our love for Palestine, Jerusalem, and Al-Aqsa.

“It is a day for sacrifice, heroism, and dedication, and to earn the honor of defending the first Qibla of Muslims, the third holiest mosque, and the ascension of the trusted Messenger.”

“We call upon the free people of the world to mobilize in solidarity with our Palestinian people and in support of their just cause and legitimate rights to freedom, independence, return, and self-determination,” the statement adds.

As previously reported by Slay News, former Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal has also urged Muslims worldwide to take to the streets on Friday. Meshaal is calling on the populations of neighboring nations to join in the struggle against Israel, Jews, and Christians. He stated, “[We must] gather in the public places and streets of the Arab and Islamic world this Friday.” Currently serving as the head of Hamas’s diaspora office and residing in Qatar, Meshaal emphasized that the governments and people of Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt have a significant responsibility in supporting Hamas.

“Tribes of Jordan, sons of Jordan, brothers and sisters of Jordan…,” Meshaal said in a recorded statement sent to the Reuters news agency.

“This is a moment of truth and the borders are close to you, you all know your responsibility.

“To all scholars who teach jihad… to all who teach and learn, this is a moment for the application (of theories).”
