The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under the leadership of President Joe Biden, a Democrat, has implemented a requirement stating that all employees must utilize “preferred pronouns.”
Rachel Levine, a transgender individual referred to as “Admiral,” is heading the HHS. They have instructed all employees to acknowledge the “gender identity” of their coworkers.
The Heritage Foundation’s Roger Severino obtained and disclosed an internal HHS email that outlines the “streamlined” policy. This email, titled “HHS Gender Non-Discrimination and Inclusion Policy,” commences with the greeting, “Happy National Coming Out Day!”
Furthermore, the email highlights the importance of recognizing and respecting individuals’ gender identities:
“When individuals bring their whole selves to work, all of us at HHS thrive.
“We want to ensure that HHS continues [to be a] welcoming, supportive environment where all employees feel safe and seen, including transgender and non-binary employees.
“Today, we are proud to announce a new HHS Gender Identity Non-Discrimination and Inclusion Guidance that outlines employees rights and protections related to gender identity.”
“This policy outlines the protections in place [when] employees undergo workplace changes, such as legal name changes, and provides workplace procedures safeguard[ing] gender all employees’ gender expressions,” the email adds.
The pronoun mandate is introduced in the email, which highlights the new HHS rules. These rules emphasize that all employees should be referred to by the names and pronouns they choose for themselves. Furthermore, it clarifies that employees have the freedom to dress and use restrooms in alignment with their gender identity. The email includes a video featuring Levine and Palm, where they provide an explanation for the enforcement of this policy.
Levine states that:
“The Gender Identity Non-Discrimination and Inclusion Guidance is very important, and all supervisors and managers are responsible for helping to ensure it is fully implemented across all opdivs and staffdivs.”
Essentially higher-ups MUST enforce it.
