Hillary Clinton, a two-time unsuccessful Democratic presidential candidate, was recently seen holding a book that bears an uncanny resemblance to her own life experiences.
Hillary is well aware of the complexities that come with being a part of a family surrounded by secrecy and shame. Given the scandals that have plagued her own family, it is rather ironic that she was spotted carrying a book that delves into the themes of “shame and secrecy.”
As reported by the Daily Mail, Hillary was seen in New York City on Monday, after returning from an extended holiday in various parts of Latin America. During her outing, she was seen clutching a book that sheds light on the hidden aspects of a specific family. Although the book was not directly related to her own family, its presence sparked discussions about the numerous secretive and shameful scandals that have plagued the Clinton family throughout the years.
It is worth noting that Hillary’s choice of reading material seemed to resonate with her own family’s experiences.
The book, titled “Shanda: A Memoir of Shame and Secrecy,” was published by author Letty Cottin Pogrebin, a feminist activist.
Pogrebin’s book, titled with the Yiddish word for “shame” or “disgrace,” recounts the author’s upbringing in an American Jewish family and the hidden truths and complex concealments of various family members spanning multiple generations and decades.
The Daily Mail associated the book’s title with Hillary Clinton’s own family. Given the recent unsealing of documents related to the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, the book holds particular relevance for Hillary.
These documents have brought to light the fact that Epstein, a wealthy Democratic financier, had a close friendship with former President Bill Clinton. It is known that the former president had traveled numerous times on Epstein’s private jet. There are allegations that Bill Clinton had made multiple visits to Epstein’s infamous “Pedophile Island” in the Caribbean, as witnesses have claimed.
However, the connection between Epstein and President Clinton is just one of the many secretive and shameful episodes in the scandal-ridden history of the Clinton family. Among the numerous incidents to choose from, one of the most significant and earliest examples of the Clinton family’s shame and secrecy was President Clinton’s secret affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. This affair was exposed during a special prosecutor’s investigation into questionable real estate dealings by the first family and ultimately led to his impeachment when he lied about it to investigators.
Despite the scandalous affair, the president was acquitted, and his first lady stood by his side, although the repercussions of the affair have remained with them ever since.
The Clinton family has faced numerous scandals related to the Clinton Foundation, which have brought secrecy and shame upon them. These scandals include allegations of selling political access, accepting donations from questionable foreign actors and nations, and engaging in influence-peddling and favoritism in exchange for donations. Additionally, Hillary Clinton was personally involved in a scandal in 2015-2016, where she used a private email server for government business in a secretive manner.
This act likely violated federal laws and State Department rules, but she managed to avoid any legal consequences. However, the American voters held her accountable in 2016 by electing President Donald Trump instead of her, which remains a moment of disgrace for Hillary. This choice by the American people to elect Trump as the 45th president of the United States will forever be a stain on Hillary’s reputation that she cannot escape.
