Elon Musk, a billionaire, has reportedly expressed his intention to contribute approximately $45 million monthly to a super PAC that aims to assist in the election of former President Donald Trump this November. According to sources familiar with the situation, The Wall Street Journal reported on the billionaire’s plans to increase his backing for the American PAC.

Other notable individuals supporting the group include Joe Lonsdale, co-founder of Palantir Technologies, cryptocurrency billionaires Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, former U.S. ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft, and Joe Craft, the Chief Executive of Alliance Resource Partners. Reports of Musk’s donation to the American PAC emerged on Friday, with sources informing Bloomberg that Musk had made a substantial contribution.

In response to the failed assassination attempt against Trump at his Pennsylvania rally on Saturday, Musk publicly declared his unwavering support for the former president in a post on X.

The ex-president has been consistently garnering backing from prominent figures in Silicon Valley in recent months, with an increasing number stepping forward to publicly endorse him. Alongside Musk’s endorsement on Saturday, billionaire hedge fund manager and longtime Democratic supporter Bill Ackman also expressed his support for Trump, stating in a post on X about his “positive remarks about Trump” and “criticisms” of President Joe Biden.

“You of course don’t need to care about my opinion so feel free not to read my post when it appears. That said, I believe the upcoming presidential election is one of the most consequential elections in my lifetime so I am taking the proper time to articulate observations that I will share widely and for which I assume an important responsibility,” Ackman wrote.
