A relative of President Joe Biden has provided an explanation for his decision to withdraw from the reelection campaign, despite facing controversy. As reported by CBS News, Frank Biden, one of the president’s two younger brothers, stated that Joe Biden’s deteriorating health was a significant factor in the choice to step down from the race, making him the first incumbent president to do so since Democrat Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968.

However, shortly after this statement, according to CBS News, Joe’s family discredited Frank’s claims, labeling him as an “alcoholic” who has not been in contact with his brother for “weeks,” and refuting the assertion that Joe’s health played a role in the decision.
