A video that went viral, filmed by one of the attendees of a rally held by former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, shows a person running across a roof – the same roof from which Thomas Matthew Crooks later shot Trump. This incident took place just minutes before the tragic event, which resulted in the death of one attendee and the injury of three others, including Trump.

The video was first obtained by Fox News and was filmed by James Copenhaver, one of the victims injured at the rally on July 13. In the footage, an individual can be observed hastily moving across the roof where Crooks later carried out the shooting. According to Fox News, the video was recorded at 6:08 p.m., which would mean that the incident occurred approximately three minutes before Crooks opened fire on Trump.

The recently discovered video has surfaced as the U.S. Secret Service remains under scrutiny from Congress for failing to give satisfactory explanations to glaring inquiries regarding how Crooks managed to have a direct view of the former president on that day. Furthermore, the unanswered questions include how Crooks was able to operate a drone in the vicinity without detection, two hours prior to the rally. This also raises concerns about the alleged inability of Secret Service counter-snipers to spot Crooks on the adjacent rooftop.
