Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a former independent presidential candidate, criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her frequently criticized “word salad” responses, asserting that the nation requires a capable and articulate leader, particularly at this juncture. In a discussion with Chris Cuomo of NewsNation, Kennedy, whose surname carries significant weight within Democratic Party circles, elaborated on his decision to support the Republican ticket led by former President Donald Trump and Ohio Senator JD Vance.
Cuomo asked why Kennedy did not “stay neutral and command the attention of both sides as long as you could for the duration of this campaign?”
Following his assertion that he perceived no viable route to success for himself, RFK Jr. subsequently directed his attention towards articulating his reasons for believing that Harris was unqualified for the presidential role.
“I think we need to have a president who can give an interview, who can articulate a vision,” Kennedy began. He then referenced her stumbling responses in the past, adding that the country needs a president “who can put together an English sentence, who can articulate and defend her policies and her record, and who can engage in a debate and regular debates [and] unscripted appearances.”
He added: “Harris’s speech at the convention made it very clear that she will continue the warfare state. She’s bragging about how she sees warfare as the frontline tool of American foreign policy.”
