Hunter Biden’s attorneys have asserted that the recently disclosed payments into his father’s bank account were related to a car purchase. In response to House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer’s characterization of the payments as evidence of the president’s involvement in corrupt dealings, Hunter’s lawyer Abbe Lowell, former impeachment attorney for Bill Clinton, dismissed the claims. “The program will prioritize enrollment and retention of BIPOC [Black, Indigenous People of Color] trans and nonbinary people who also engage in survival sex trades, living with disabilities, elders, living with HIV/AIDS, undocumented, monolingual Spanish speakers, formerly incarcerated, and unhoused and marginally housed,” one document says.
The documents additionally specify that the enrollment process aims to guarantee that among the 55 participants, 66% will be BIPOC, which stands for Black, Indigenous People of Color.
