(SNews) – Radical Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has tried to justify Hamas’s attacks against Israel while simultaneously insisting that she is not defending the terrorist group.

During an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Mehdi Hasan Show,” Ocasio-Cortez acknowledged that Hamas’s attack against Israel on October 7 was “horrific.”

However, she continued by trying to justify the murder, rape, and abduction of hundreds of innocent civilians, including Americans, by accusing Israel of committing “war crimes.”

AOC was defending her position of calling for a “ceasefire” following Hamas’s attack when host Mehdi Hasan asked the congresswoman whether Israel had a right to defend itself.

She began, “I think one of the things that’s important to recognize about this situation is the asymmetry of what is going on as well as the collective punishment of what is happening to the Palestinian people at this moment.

“Hamas has absolutely engaged in horrific attacks.

“Every single day there are more details that are released about what occurred on October 7th that shocks the human consciousness and shocks our conscience, our collective conscience.”

“However, we do know as well that war crimes do not constitute and are not an appropriate response for other war crimes,” AOC explained.

“It is unacceptable to think that 1700 Palestinian children alone, their deaths will somehow make up or justify the violence of what we saw on October 7th.”

The progressive “Squad” member went on to accuse Israel of committing an “indiscriminate bombing campaign” against Gaza and questioned the effectiveness of its recent actions.

She claimed, without evidence, that Israel is using “white phosphorus” against civilians.

“It occurs to me, I think a question we all must ask ourselves, what price of innocent life is acceptable in terms of targeting Hamas?” AOC said.

“And are we even receiving?

“We are receiving daily counts every day about the number of innocent people that are dying.

“We are not seeing reports on how effective this has actually been in terms of dismantling Hamas.

“I think it’s very important for us to raise that point.

“I think it’s important for us to understand that this is part of a larger intergenerational cycle of violence,” she said.

AOC also insisted that is “absolutely not a defense of Hamas” to criticize Israel.

She claimed that the “political aims of violence” on both sides are the “dehumanization” of the other.

Ocasio-Cortez along with her fellow radical “Squad” members like Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MI) and Cori Bush (D-MO) have repeatedly called for a “ceasefire.”

The same far-left Democrats are also dodging questions over whether Israel has a right to defend itself after the deadly attacks.

As the interview closed, AOC also suggested that her fellow lawmakers’ reluctance to call for a ceasefire is motivated by race.

“I have long found the ignoring and sidelining of Palestinians in the U.S. House of Representatives, the humanity of Palestinian populations in the five years that I’ve been in Congress, quite shocking,” she said.

“This is not something that is new to many of us.”

President Joe Biden acquired his luxurious beach house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, for a total of $2.75 million in cash. The purchase took place shortly after his vice presidency ended in June 2017. Republicans are actively investigating potential business connections between President Biden and his son Hunter, adding to the scrutiny. Following the transmission of this text message, Hunter Biden received over $5 million from Chinese sources.

This information raises significant questions about the funding of President Biden’s beach house and adds to ongoing discussions about his family’s business dealings.

“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled,” Hunter wrote Zhao on WhatsApp on July 30, 2017.

He then appears to threaten Zhao, whom he calls Z.

“Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand,” he writes at 9.45 a.m.

“And now means tonight,” he adds, apparently referring to time in Beijing, which is 12 hours ahead.

“And Z if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang or the chairman I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction.”

He signs off by emphasizing: “Ok my friend – I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.

“I sure hope whatever it is you are doing is very, very, very important.”

There is currently no concrete evidence confirming that Joe Biden was physically present with his son during this incident.

Nevertheless, metadata extracted from photos sourced from Hunter’s well-known abandoned laptop suggests that he was at his father’s primary residence, the Wilmington mansion, on the day when the text message was transmitted.

James Comer, who serves as the chairman of the House Oversight Committee and is actively involved in the campaign for President Biden’s impeachment, has expressed concerns about the cash purchase of the house, considering it to be suspicious.

“The fact that Joe Biden purchased a luxurious beach house around the same time his family was receiving millions from a CCP-linked company raises many questions that need to be answered,” Comer told the Mail.

“The House Oversight Committee will continue to follow the money trail to determine the extent of President Biden’s involvement in his family’s influence-peddling schemes and its impact on our national security,” Comer added.

Senator Ron Johnson, who, alongside Senator Chuck Grassley, conducted extensive investigations into Hunter Biden’s questionable foreign business dealings, emphasized the importance of obtaining all the financial records pertaining to the Bidens when discussing this transaction.

“The corruption of the Biden crime family has been obvious for years,” he claimed in a statement.

“This is just another piece of evidence that will probably be ignored once again by most of the mainstream media.

“It also underscores the imperative of obtaining all the bank records from all the Bidens who have benefited from Joe and Hunter’s grifts.”

The White House has refuted any claims of the President being involved in business with his son. However, they no longer deny discussing Hunter’s foreign dealings.

Property records indicate that Joe Biden’s six-bedroom second property was acquired on June 8, 2017, for $2,744,001, just seven weeks before his son’s controversial messages. No mortgage was associated with the sale, suggesting that Joe Biden paid for the property entirely in cash. The Sussex County recorder’s office lacks records of a mortgage on the Rehoboth Beach property until December of the previous year, when Joe and Jill Biden established a $250,000 line of credit secured against the property.

His tax records from that time reveal a significant increase in income compared to his time as vice president. Most of this income stemmed from the sale of his memoir, “Promise Me, Dad,” and well-paid speaking engagements for both him and First Lady Jill Biden. In 2017, the year after Joe Biden left his vice presidential post, the couple declared an income of $11 million, followed by $4.58 million in 2018.

At the time of the Rehoboth house purchase, a local news site, Delaware Online, reported that it had been financed “using part of their advance from a multi-book deal.” However, even if the funds for the home came from the $11 million earned by Joe and Jill Biden that year, based on their tax filings, significant disparities remain in the President’s financial disclosures, which lack clarification.

An analysis published last year highlights a $5.2 million discrepancy between his IRS filings and his Office of Government Ethics disclosures for the same period. From 2017 to 2019, Joe and First Lady Jill Biden reported $16.5 million in gross income on their federal tax returns. The majority was attributed to their two firms, CelticCapri Corp and Giacoppa Corp, utilized for speaking and writing engagements. In OGE filings for the same duration, Joe Biden reported only $9.6 million in income for himself and his wife.

While Joe was obligated to submit OGE reports during his vice presidency and following his presidential candidacy declaration in 2019, there is still a considerable unexplained gap of about $7 million. Part of this discrepancy arises from Jill Biden’s wages from her teaching job at Northern Virginia Community College and a salary paid from Giacoppa, which did not necessitate reporting to the OGE.

The comparison of the income reported by Joe from his CelticCapri company in OGE reports versus what was reported to the IRS indicates a difference of nearly $5,180,071 that remains unaccounted for.

Remarkably, this figure closely corresponds to the alleged $5 million that Joe Biden was reported to have received as a bribe from Mykola Zlochevsky, the owner of Ukrainian gas firm Burisma. This information came from a trusted FBI informant, and in a 2020 account of an agent’s interview with this informant, it was claimed that Zlochevsky boasted about channeling $5 million each to Hunter and Joe through a complex network of offshore accounts during a meeting in 2016. Hunter was serving on the Burisma board at the time.

A federal judge has struck down an unconstitutional ban on what are often referred to as “assault weapons” in California.

U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez, who was appointed by President George W. Bush, ruled that the state’s long-standing ban on semi-automatic firearms, which has been in place for three decades, infringes upon the constitutional right to bear arms.

Judge Benitez argued that a small number of criminals should not have the authority to set the regulations for the millions of responsible American households. He emphasized that the majority of individuals who own firearms like AR-15 rifles are law-abiding citizens who possess them for self-defense.

“California’s answer to the criminal misuse of a few is to disarm its many good residents,” Benitez wrote in a 79-page ruling.

“That knee-jerk reaction is constitutionally untenable, just as it was 250 years ago.

“The Second Amendment stands as a shield from government imposition of that policy.”

Benitez sided with various gun advocacy organizations that had contested the Assault Weapons Control Act and additional state laws that were seen as infringing on the U.S. Constitution.

It’s important to note that California has some of the most stringent anti-gun laws in the country. John Dillon, an attorney representing the plaintiffs who filed a lawsuit against the state to challenge these laws, commended the judge’s decision.

Dillon said in a statement to The Associated Press that the ruling was “constitutionally sound and addresses the many inadequacies of the State’s arguments and so-called justifications for this unconstitutional ban.”

“We will continue to fight for our Plaintiffs’ Second Amendment rights through any appeal until the State is forced to start respecting these rights,” he added.

In 1989, California made history by becoming the first U.S. state to implement such legislation in response to a tragic school shooting incident that claimed the lives of five children.

Reportedly, Judge Benitez invalidated this law in 2021, deeming California’s effort to restrict residents from acquiring specific firearms as an unsuccessful experiment. He famously likened the AR-15 to common knives in his prior ruling and emphasized this comparison once more in the introduction to his recent decision.

“Like the Bowie Knife which was commonly carried by citizens and soldiers in the 1800s, ‘assault weapons’ are dangerous, but useful,” Benitez wrote.

“But unlike the Bowie Knife, the United States Supreme Court has said, ‘[t]here is a long tradition of widespread lawful gun ownership by private individuals in this country.’”

The federal judge has consistently invalidated various California firearm-related laws, including a recent ruling last month that deemed the state’s ban on magazines with more than ten rounds of ammunition unconstitutional. However, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals permitted California to uphold the law during the ongoing legal process, and state authorities lodged an appeal against the decision.

In response, Judge Benitez issued an injunction, temporarily halting his latest ruling for ten days to allow the state to pursue an appeal. California’s Attorney General, Rob Bonta, a Democrat, filed a notice of appeal seeking to overturn the district court’s judgment, describing it as “dangerous and misguided.”

“Weapons of war have no place on California’s streets,” Bonta said in a news release.

“This has been state law in California for decades, and we will continue to fight for our authority to keep our citizens safe from firearms that cause mass casualties.

“In the meantime, assault weapons remain unlawful for purchase, transfer, or possession in California.”

The ruling represents another triumph for supporters of constitutional rights, echoing the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision from the previous year, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. vs. Bruen, which found that New York’s longstanding restrictions on concealed firearms violated the Second and Fourteenth Amendment rights of Americans.

Judge Benitez made this ruling following the 9th Circuit of Appeals sending the case back to him in light of the Bruen decision.

President Biden had a somewhat tense exchange with his White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, during a press briefing on Wednesday.

This incident occurred when Biden was being questioned about Israeli actions in response to a growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza following a recent attack by Hamas on Israel. In the aftermath of this attack, Israel implemented measures such as cutting off electricity, supplies, food, and water to Gaza, which had experienced significant casualties, including a brutal loss of nearly 1,100 citizens.

One reporter aboard Air Force One asked: “You said you were very blunt with the Israelis on the need to get humanitarian aid to Gaza or what exactly?”

“On everything. Ha ha ha,” Biden said in response. At that point, Jean-Pierre appeared to interrupt, prompting Biden to snarl, “Don’t!”

At that point, Biden changed the subject to helping evacuate Americans from the region. “I’m hopeful we can get some Americans out, as well, of Gaza, and hopefully, we will continue to work toward getting other Americans out through other means, as well,” he said.

As was reported last week, about a week after Hamas sent thousands of rockets into Israel and invaded communities near the Gaza Strip, Biden’s State Department announced it is ready to begin charter flights out of the country for Americans who wish to leave.

However, American citizens will have to pay for those flights, even as hundreds of thousands of people are being cared for in U.S. cities around the country after illegally crossing into the country.

“[I]t’s a failure once again, on the Biden administration,” Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said on the “John Solomon Reports” podcast in an interview that aired Friday. “The same thing happened in Afghanistan when you know, countless Americans were stranded there in Afghanistan when Biden pulled our military out and allowed the Taliban to take over the country.”

“And now we have Americans stranded in Israel. And then we’ve got, we think 27 Americans have been murdered by Hamas, and approximately 14 are unaccounted for, likely held, as you know, by Hamas, and we don’t know what their condition is,” she continued.

“We don’t have their whereabouts. So yes, there’s so much to be concerned about. The message that’s been sent over and over again to the American people from Joe Biden’s administration and all of the Democrats in charge is ‘you’re not safe if you are overseas, and you’re not safe at home,’ because they’ve allowed our border to be invaded,” she added.

The State Department defended charging for the chartered flights.

The State Department has teams communicating 24/7 with U.S. citizens and providing them assistance through phone calls, an online form, and the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program,” a State Department spokesperson told Just the News.

“U.S. citizens in need of assistance should complete the crisis intake form on travel.state.gov, and we will continue to provide updates to U.S. citizens who have registered via our online crisis intake form as information becomes available,” the person continued.

“U.S. law requires that departure assistance to private U.S. citizens and third-country nationals generally be provided via a loan from the U.S. government. It requires that U.S. government coordinated evacuation of private U.S. citizens or third-country nationals be provided ‘on a reimbursable basis to the maximum extent practicable,’” the spokesperson noted further. “U.S. citizen and third-country national passengers on U.S. government-coordinated evacuations are generally required to sign a promissory note, which is a form attesting to their agreement to repay the U.S. government.”

“The note explains the conditions of the loan, the repayment process, and other terms. Upon their return to the United States, private U.S. citizen and third-country national passengers will be billed by the Department’s Bureau of the Comptroller and Global Financial Services (CGFS),” the spokesperson added.

“The amount billed will be based on the cost of a full-fare economy flight, or comparable alternate transportation, to the designated destination(s) that would have been charged immediately prior to the events giving rise to the evacuation,” they said.
