The announcement of Tucker Carlson and Fox News parting ways in April surprised many, as “Tucker Carlson Tonight” had consistently attracted three million viewers. While the retirement of Carlson was initially disclosed without an official explanation, subsequent reports have shed light on the behind-the-scenes events.

Michael Wolff, in an MSNBC interview discussing his latest book, “The Fall: The End of Fox News and the Murdoch Dynasty,” revealed that then-Fox News chairman Rupert Murdoch decided to let Carlson go, despite a personal liking for him. Wolff claimed that Fox News fired Carlson because of the Dominion lawsuit, though Fox has denied this.

Soon after New York Magazine released an excerpt from Wolff’s book detailing Carlson’s departure from Fox, Murdoch announced his resignation as chairman of Fox Corporation and News Corp. His son, Lachlan Murdoch, is set to take over as the chairman of News Corp. and will continue as the executive chair and CEO of Fox Corporation.

Vanity Fair suggested that Murdoch might have been angered by Carlson’s speech at the Heritage Foundation’s 50th Anniversary gala, where he spoke about his Christian and conservative beliefs and referred to those who disagreed with him as “advocating for evil.” According to an inside source, this deeply spiritual discourse was unsettling to Rupert Murdoch.

Other theories revolve around the legal dispute between Dominion Voting Systems and Fox News. Dominion initiated legal proceedings against the network, alleging defamation, particularly in response to on-air claims that their technology was involved in “stealing” the 2020 presidential election from Donald Trump. In addition to Carlson being one of the anchors who made these allegations, court documents reportedly revealed derogatory texts by Carlson towards Fox News colleagues and critical remarks about Trump.

Wolff’s book suggests that Carlson’s departure was connected to the ongoing legal battle with Dominion Voting Systems, with Carlson effectively offered as a sacrificial component in the settlement. This was a strategic move by Murdoch to ensure that the financial agreement with Dominion didn’t exceed $1 billion. It’s important to note that this connection differs from initial reports.

It’s been reported that Carlson had a meal with Murdoch and Smith before the decision, and this meal seemingly reinforced Murdoch’s personal fondness for Tucker.

In Wolff’s book, he writes, “He liked him considerably more than he liked Sean Hannity, whom he despised. But there was also a perception that the problems he caused outweighed his worth. The Fox backlash could often appear to be Tucker backlash among his offspring. Without him, how could you possibly reduce the Fox temperature? How about twenty percent? How about thirty percent? Perhaps more? This was a Murdoch calculation: ‘How much could Fox be toned down without losing its identity?'”

Following Carlson’s departure, Fox reached a $787.5 million settlement with Dominion.

A biography of Carlson by Chadwick Moore, published in August, outlines Tucker’s perspective on why he believes he was let go from Fox News, which appears to align with Wolff’s views.

“They agreed to take me off the air, along with my show, as a condition of the Dominion settlement,” Carlson told Moore, as reported by The Guardian. “They were compelled to reach a resolution; Rupert was unable to testify. I believe that agreement was reached mere minutes before the trial began. I mean, I’m certain it was.”

In April, Fox News released a concise statement about the termination of Carlson’s program: “FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We appreciate his contributions as a host and before that as a contributor to the network. Mr. Carlson’s final program aired on April 21. Fox News Tonight will air live tonight at 8 p.m. ET with alternating FOX News personalities serving as interim hosts until a permanent replacement is named.”

In May, The Hill reported that both Dominion and Fox News refuted the notion that Carlson’s dismissal was linked to a settlement. A representative from Dominion made it clear in a statement to Best Life that the allegations made by Wolff are untrue: “Both Dominion and Fox News have already confirmed this claim is categorically false. Any contrary assertion is simply untrue.”

Fox provided the following statement in response to questions about the book: “The fact that this author’s books have been parodied on Saturday Night Live tells us everything we need to know.”

(SNews) – President Donald Trump has issued a warning to the American people about the mounting nuclear threat from Iran.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump blasted Democrat President Joe Biden’s foreign policy.

Trump predicts that Biden will “beg Iran for mercy” once the Iranian regime amasses nuclear weapons.

Trump posted:

“Would somebody please inform our WORST President in history, Crooked Joe Biden, who doesn’t have a clue, that while he dithers around and illegally attacks his political opponent, ME, and is always trying to blame everyone else for the MANY, MANY, MANY mistakes he has made, IRAN IS RAPIDLY BUILDING A LARGE SCALE ARSENAL OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS.”

Trump warns that negotiations will screech to a halt once Iran has built up its nuclear arsenal.

He continued by predicting how Biden would respond to such a catastrophic scenario.

“Once they have them, which will be soon, all negotiations STOP,” Trump said.

“That’s when our incompetent fool of a President will drop to his knees and beg IRAN for mercy.

“‘Please, Please, Please, Mr. Ayatollah, SIR, I will give you everything, I will do anything you demand. Don’t hurt us!’” Trump said, imitating Biden.

“This is the position that this stupid fool has put us in,” the former president said.

Trump went on to say that Iran was “broke” toward the end of his administration.

The Islamic nation had “no nuclear weapons or prospects” but Biden made Iran “rich” and has “no idea what to do,” Trump stated.

Trump also accused Iran of being behind the Hamas terrorist group’s deadly attacks on Israel last weekend.

The attacks killed more than 1,400 people, including children.

Israel is now waging a massive counteroffensive, launching airstrikes in Hamas-controlled territory and preparing for a ground offensive.

“They started the attack on Israel and desperately want to become openly involved,” Trump said of Iran.

“‘Death to Israel,’ they chant.

“DON’T LET IRAN HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS!”

During a CBS “60 Minutes” interview broadcast on Sunday evening, Biden said that, so far, there is “no evidence” that Iran knew about Hamas’s attacks beforehand.

He also claims there is no evidence to suggest Iran helped plan the assault.

Biden also issued a warning to Iran not to interfere in the conflict.

The president said his message to Iran is: “Don’t. Don’t, don’t, don’t.”

Iran supports Hamas militarily and has openly celebrated the attacks against Israel, as Slay News reported.

The nation’s support for the latest terror attacks has prompted concerns about Iran’s role in the situation.

“Nobody has turned a blind eye to Iranian destabilizing behavior,” National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby told reporters last week.

“Hamas wouldn’t have been able to function at all had it not been for propping up by the Iranian regime,” Kirby said.

However, Kirby claims there is no “specific evidence” that Iran directly helped plan the attacks.

This isn’t Musk’s initial declaration of support for the Second Amendment. Last month, as reported by Slay News, he posted a video of himself firing a firearm on social media and mentioned his possession of “an arsenal of weapons.” The video rapidly gained immense popularity, amassing millions of views within hours.

“I have an arsenal of weapons, most of which I bought in California before they changed the law to make it impossible to do so,” Musk posted.

“I’ve hip-fired a 50 cal while walking.

“Might have the video somewhere.”

(SNews) – Over 30,000 concerned Americans have signed a petition demanding the ouster of a radical Ivy League professor who praised Hamas for launching “awesome” terrorist attacks against Israel.

After Hamas slaughtered hundreds of innocent Israeli citizens, Joseph Massad, a history and politics lecturer at New York City’s Columbia University, published an article celebrating the “awesome stunning victory.”

Massad made the chilling remarks in an article published on a website named Electronic Intifada.

He wrote the article one day after hundreds of Jewish people were slaughtered in areas close to Gaza.

In the same article, Massad referred to Israel as “cruel colonizers.”

He continued by praising Hamas‘s barbaric actions as “astonishing,” “astounding,” “awesome,” and “incredible.”

“The sight of the Palestinian resistance fighters storming Israeli checkpoints separating Gaza from Israel was astounding,” Massad added.

“Perhaps the major achievement of the resistance in the temporary takeover of these settler colonies is the death blow to any confidence that Israeli colonists had in their military and its ability to protect them.”

The comments have provoked a widespread backlash and led to calls for Columbia, former President Barack Obama’s alma mater, to fire the professor.

In response, a Change.org petition was swiftly set up by 23-year-old Maya Platek, a student at the college.

Platek accuses Massad of showing support for a “recognized terrorist organization.”

At the time of press, more than 33,000 people have signed the petition.

“The colonists’ flight from these settlements may prove to be a permanent exodus,” Massad wrote in another section of the shocking piece.

“They may have finally realized that living on land stolen from another people will never make them safe.

“What can motorized paragliders do in the face of one of the most formidable militaries in the world?” he continued, referring to the horrific terror attack against innocent young people at an Israeli music festival.

“Indeed as stunning videos show, these paragliders have become the air force of the Palestinian resistance.”

Massad, who is a native of Jordan and of Palestinian descent, has been on staff at Columbia since 1999.

He received his Ph.D. from the prestigious school in 1998.

In 2009, his tenure was protested by Columbia’s pro-Israel group LionPAC.

Since the Hamas attacks began, Columbia has become a flashpoint area in the U.S.

On Thursday, a Brooklyn teenager was arrested after she allegedly attacked a Jewish student.

Maxwell Friedman, 19, was arrested for striking an Israeli Columbia University student with a stick on Wednesday night, police have confirmed.

Friedman was charged with one count of assault following the altercation with a 24-year-old School of General Studies student in front of Butler Library.

On arrival, they were told that the victim – identified only by the initials I.A. – was engaged in a dispute that had become physical.

The victim accused Friedman, of Bushwick, of striking I.A. in the hand with a wooden stick.

She was taken into custody.

The spokesperson said the victim refused medical attention.

The incident is not being investigated as a hate crime, however.

Meanwhile, the Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine said in a public statement on Tuesday that Hamas’s actions were a “counter-offensive against their settler-colonial oppressor.”

“The weight of responsibility for the war and casualties undeniably lies with the Israeli extremist government and other Western governments,” the statement read.

The statement was also signed by a group named Jewish Voice for Peace.

“As long as you perpetuate this narrative, fighting will continue to break out until justice is achieved,” the statement continued.

“Because nothing else is working.

“As Columbia students, our classes regularly discuss the inevitability of resistance as part of the struggle for decolonization.

“We study under renowned scholars who denounce the fact that the media requires oppressed peoples to be ‘perfect victims’ in order to deserve sympathy.”

“Yet not only does our institution neglect to align its actions with its ostensible values, but it actively normalizes Israeli apartheid and subjugation of Palestinians,” the group went on.

The group reiterated previous statements in which they demanded that Columbia University divest from Israel.

In April 2023, it was reported that Columbia’s plan to build a campus in Tel Aviv was being met with stern opposition from staff and students alike.

“We call upon our administration as a whole to start verbally acknowledging Palestinian existence and humanity,” the statement added.

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has issued a dire warning about the global economy, raising concerns about the potential impact on food supplies, energy, and the economy. He cited the war in Ukraine and attacks by the terrorist group Hamas in Israel as major factors contributing to these concerns.

Dimon expressed his apprehension that these global conflicts would have “far-reaching impacts on energy and food markets, global trade, and geopolitical relationships.” He described the current times as potentially the most dangerous the world has seen in decades.

In addition to these conflicts, Dimon pointed to challenges in the labor market and high government debt levels. He highlighted the largest peacetime fiscal deficits ever, which he believes increase the risks of both inflation and high-interest rates.

Furthermore, Dimon raised concerns about the Federal Reserve’s quantitative tightening campaign, emphasizing that the long-term effects remain unclear. The Fed has significantly raised interest rates in an effort to combat persistent high inflation, with 11 rate hikes in just one year.

Despite these concerns, JPMorgan reported a 35% increase in its third-quarter profit to $13.15 billion, driven by rising interest rates. Revenue also saw significant growth, reaching $39.87 billion, up from $32.7 billion a year ago, exceeding analysts’ expectations.

“Currently, U.S. consumers and businesses generally remain healthy, although, consumers are spending down their excess cash buffers,” Dimon said.

“While we hope for the best, we prepare the [bank] for a broad range of outcomes so we can consistently deliver for clients no matter the environment.”

An AP-NORC poll revealed that an overwhelming majority of Americans hold the belief that President Joe Biden has been involved in his son Hunter Biden’s questionable business dealings, viewing them as either illegal or unethical. The poll asked the question, “When it comes to the overseas business dealings of Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, do you think Joe Biden has done something illegal, or he has done something unethical but not illegal, or do you think he has not done anything wrong?”

Results indicate that 68 percent of those surveyed believe Joe Biden did something illegal or unethical. More specifically, 35 percent said they believe he did something illegal, 33 percent stated it was unethical but not illegal, while only 30 percent think he did nothing wrong.

A whopping 97% of Republicans believe Joe Biden acted illegally or unethically in Hunter Biden’s business dealings compared to 40% of Democrats who believe so; 58% of Democrats think Joe Biden did nothing wrong. The poll was conducted from Oct. 5-9 with a nationwide sample of 1,163 adults and a plus or minus 3.9% margin of error.

House Republicans launched an impeachment inquiry in September related to Joe Biden’s role in his son’s business dealings and the Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes and firearms possession. The Oversight Committee led the first impeachment inquiry hearing in late September and subpoenaed Hunter and James Biden’s bank records after the hearing concluded.

Despite Joe Biden’s repeated denials of involvement in Hunter’s business affairs, several Republican-led House committees have presented what they claim is substantial evidence to the contrary. The House Oversight Committee has put forth more than 20 instances of evidence connecting the president to Hunter Biden’s business activities.

“There is mounting evidence that Joe Biden was involved in his family’s influence peddling schemes, including while he served as Vice President,” the committee said in a statement.

“Democrats and their corporate media allies continue to ignore this overwhelming evidence as they seek to distract the American people from the Biden family’s corruption,” the panel added.

In August, Rep. James Comer, chairman of the Oversight Committee, said he planned, at some point, to issue a subpoena to members of the Biden family to compel their testimony in certain matters.

“This is always going to end with the Bidens coming in front of the committee. We are going to subpoena the family. We know that this is going to end up in court when we subpoena the Bidens,” he told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo.

“So we’re putting together a case, and I think we’ve done that very well. We’ve shown the bank records,” he said.

“If I had subpoenaed Joe and Hunter Biden the first day I became chairman of the committee, it would have been tied up in court, and the judge would have eventually thrown it out,” the representative said.

“We have put together a case that I think would stand up in any court of law in America,” he said. “We want to talk to about three or four more associates first. We’ve been communicating with a couple of them.

“We’re trying to bring them in just like we did Devin Archer for a transcribed interview,” the representative said. “If they don’t come in voluntarily, then they’ll be subpoenaed.”

“It’s very difficult. You know how hard the Democrats tried to get Donald Trump. So this is very difficult,” he said.
