Republican Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) strongly confronted Attorney General Merrick Garland during a heated congressional hearing today.

“I promised the Senate when I came before it for confirmation that I would leave [Special Counsel David] Weiss in place and that I would not interfere with his investigation.

“I’m not going to get into the internal deliberations of the department, I made clear that if Weiss wanted to bring a case in any jurisdiction, he would be able to do that.

“We will not be intimidated,” Garland said.

“We will do our jobs free from outside interference.

“And we will not back down from defending our democracy.”

Jordan fired back:

Billionaire George Soros, known for his left-leaning views, has reportedly been financially supporting TikTok influencers to promote President Joe Biden’s agenda to a younger audience, as revealed in a recent report.

During the year 2022, a number of Generation Z TikTok activists received payments totaling at least $300,000 from Soros to advocate for the Democratic Party’s progressive “woke” policies.

According to information from the New York Post, these influential social media personalities were compensated for creating content that expressed support for President Biden and advanced a left-wing political agenda.

Publicly available financial documents indicate that Soros’ Open Society Foundations contributed $5.5 million to Accelerate Action Inc. in both 2020 and 2021. Accelerate Action Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing innovative methods of civic engagement, particularly within communities of color.

In 2022, Accelerate Action Inc. allocated a minimum of $300,000 to Gen-Z for Change, a nonprofit formerly known as TikTok for Biden. Notably, the reviewed tax records indicate that Accelerate Action was the sole nonprofit organization that provided financial assistance to Gen-Z for Change.

Gen-Z for Change, as described on its website, is a collective of young activists who leverage online platforms to bring about positive social change. They utilize social media to drive progressive initiatives and hold those in positions of power accountable.

Gen-Z for Change actively encourages young voters to support the Democratic Party’s progressive platform, which includes policies such as universal healthcare, the forgiveness of outstanding medical debts, the implementation of red flag laws concerning firearm ownership, and the abolition of voter ID laws.

These young activists also advocate for extending asylum to all refugees, dismantling the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), defunding the police, and ending the practice of cash bail.

Furthermore, the group campaigns against conservative efforts to ban curricula related to Marxist Critical Race Theory (CRT) in public schools.

“Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin created a tipline for teachers, including ‘critical race theory,’ in their curriculum,” the group boasted.

“Critical race theory, a sociological framework, is weaponized by Republicans to sensationalize a huge nothing-burger.

“Simply put, Republicans do not want an accurate depiction of race relations in the United States.

“So, to avoid making teachers’ jobs more difficult, and to troll bigoted Republicans, we created code that people could use to spam the tiplines with lyrics of songs or whatever they imagined.”

In the previous year, the Biden administration provided information to Generation Z TikTok users regarding the nation’s ongoing involvement in the Ukraine conflict. Additionally, they extended an invitation to the White House for these users to witness President Biden signing the Inflation Reduction Act into law.

The means by which the group has utilized George Soros’ funding remains uncertain, as reported by the Post.

Republican Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY) responded to Soros’ attempts to influence young individuals, expressing her concerns to the media outlet.

“George Soros is funding the next generation of far-left activists on a platform that is beholden to the [Chinese Communist Party],” she told the Post.

An Open Society Foundations spokesperson responded to the findings by claiming that the actions of Soros and his organization are for the benefit of the American people.

A group of 19 individuals, including an American citizen, has been captured and taken hostage by the Taliban in Afghanistan. The Taliban conducted a raid on the offices of a Swiss nonprofit organization, the International Assistance Mission (IAM), accusing it of “promoting Christianity.”

The IAM has confirmed that the American worker and 18 others were detained by the Taliban during these raids, which occurred in Ghor, approximately 400 miles outside of Kabul.

Since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan two years ago, they have viewed NGOs as a significant threat. Following President Joe Biden’s controversial withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan in 2021, the Taliban implemented strict measures in the country.

These measures include a ban on Afghan women’s education beyond the sixth grade and restrictions on their participation in public life and employment, including working for NGOs.

During the initial raid, three individuals, including the American citizen, were taken by the Taliban. The remaining 15 were captured in a separate raid ten days later. Presently, they are being held in an undisclosed location in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.

“We are unaware of the circumstances that led to these incidents and have not been advised of the reason for the detention of our staff members,” the IAM said in a statement.

“The well-being and security of our colleagues are paramount to us, and we are doing everything possible to ensure their safety and secure their swift release.”

Taliban authorities stated that the individuals were detained on accusations of “propagating and promoting Christianity.” The U.S. State Department has acknowledged that it was aware of the capture of a U.S. citizen by the Taliban.

This incident serves to underscore the State Department’s advisory cautioning U.S. citizens against traveling to Afghanistan. The country is plagued by armed conflict, civil unrest, crime, terrorism, and kidnapping, rendering it extremely perilous for Western nationals, particularly Americans.

“Travel to all areas of Afghanistan is unsafe, and the risk of kidnapping or violence against U.S. citizens in Afghanistan is high,” the State Department said.

CNN’s legal analyst, Elie Honig, pointed out a significant flaw in the indictment, suggesting that Trump and his allies could attempt to move the trial out of the heavily liberal county in Georgia. However, it’s worth noting that a previous attempt by former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to do so was unsuccessful.

“The other big issue – and we just said this word – is removal. Get ready for a lot of talk about removal. Mark Meadows is already trying to do this. Donald Trump will try to follow. In a nutshell, what this means is, if a federal official gets charged with a state crime that relates to that federal official’s official job duties, you can get the case removed.”

Honig argued that such duties must be “within the legitimate scope of those jobs,” adding that is “an important qualification. He [Trump and others] can get the case moved over to federal court and then potentially dismissed. So, these are really important motions. Mark Meadows has already done this, Trump is sure to follow.”

“The hard part [is] it’s a lot of work. You’re not going to be able to try all 19 at once. That’s not going to happen. And you just never know how every one of these defendants, let’s put aside Trump. Every one of these defendants, even the people we heard of, is going to mount a furious defense, as is their right to do,” Honig said.

“They all work together as one cohesive entity towards an illegal end,” Honig said. “You have the advantage to pick off some low-hanging fruit and get them to flip.”
