(SNews) – The U.K. government is moving to pivot away from its embrace of the green agenda goals for renewable energy, according to reports.

The Telegraph is reporting that British lawmakers are abandoning climate goals as the agenda has seen prices continue to soar for consumers.

During last winter, energy prices climbed so high that many feared they wouldn’t be able to afford to survive the colder months.

The globalist push to eliminate gas-powered vehicles in favor of expensive electric vehicles (EV) has also promoted pushback.

Many argue that the high cost of EVs keeps them out of reach for many working families who rely on gas-powered cars to get to work, transport children to school, etc.

Others argue that the infrastructure to charge EVs will never be able to support electric-only vehicles and the high demand for charging will drive electricity prices even higher.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is now suggesting that the country’s aim to ban new gas-powered vehicles by the end of the decade may not come to fruition.

Last week, Sunak said that green energy initiatives must be “proportionate and pragmatic” so as to not unduly impact the lives of citizens, according to The Telegraph.

Sunak refused to confirm his government’s commitment to the “Net Zero” policy when asked directly.

“We’re going to make progress towards net zero, but we’re going to do that in a proportionate and pragmatic way that doesn’t unnecessarily give people more hassle and more costs in their lives,” Sunak said, according to Financial Times.

According to the Office for National Statistics, almost 50 percent of British adults are using less fuel around their homes because of increased energy prices.

Sunak’s remarks followed news that Sunak’s Conservative Party has urged him to roll back other green policies, according to The Telegraph.

Among those policies likely to be scrapped is the plan to phase out new gas boilers by 2035.

Energy prices in the U.K. have spiked considerably in the wake of the Russia-Ukraine war.

The May 2023 price of energy goods has risen by more than 8% from May 2022, according to data from the Office for National Statistics.

Overall, consumer prices are currently running nearly 8% higher than they were last year, according to the BBC.

“Of course net zero is important to me,” Sunak said when pressed for details, according to The Telegraph.

“So yes, we’re going to keep making progress towards our net zero ambitions and we’re also going to strengthen our energy security.”

Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, also a member of the Conservative Party, initially announced the gas-powered car phase-out in November 2020, according to The Telegraph.

The remarks from Sunak followed a relative over-performance by the Conservatives in smaller elections last month.

(TStarnes) – The Christian man arrested for reading the Bible on a public sidewalk outside an “all ages” drag queen event in Watertown, Wisconsin spoke out at a city council meeting this week.

Marcus Schroeder, who is part of the group Warriors for Christ, told them he was protesting “drag queens twerking on kids in lingerie,” calling it “unacceptable.”

“We can have our disagreements but there comes a time when we have to understand we are all going to stand before God one day and we’re going to have to give an account for what we have done with the children in our society, the innocent minds and the children who deserve to be protected,” Schroeder said.

He was arrested Saturday while he was evangelizing at the “Pride in the Park” along with three others part of his group that shares the gospel.

“All I did was read from Scripture on the sidewalk,” he said. I was reading a passage from the Bible about love, and I was arrested. No reason, not giving any warning, not told anything about my amplification needing to be turning down. I was arrested and taken into custody simply for reading the Bible on the sidewalk.”

National radio host Todd Starnes criticized Gov. Tony Evers (D) for supporting the drag queens but not the Christians.

“Grown men dressed in sexually provocative outfits were allowed to groom children in a city park while Christian teenagers were arrested for reading the Bible and preaching the Gospel,” Starnes said in his News & Commentary.

He praised Schroeder for his bold move, noting his shirt said, “I will stand for truth even if I stand alone.”

“Let’s hope that other Christians around the nation will heed that call and muster the courage to stand,” Starnes said. “And we can start by calling the Watertown Wisconsin Police Department to find out why they are arresting Christian teenagers.”

Schroeder doubled down on his actions after he was released with a warning Saturday. The officers gave him two citations: amplification without a permit and resisting arrest, which Schroeder denies.

“It was worth it,” he told the local media. “It’s actually an honor to be counted worthy to stand with the cloud of witnesses who have gone before us and been arrested for the sake of spreading Christ and his kingdom.”

(SNews) – The House Judiciary Committee has launched an investigation into allegations that Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration colluded with Facebook to censor the American people.

As Slay News previously reported, Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) published evidence showing Biden officials pressured Facebook to silence conservatives on the social media platform and to promote Democrat talking points from corporate media outlets.

Shortly after taking office in January 2021, the Biden admin started pressuring Facebook to stifle the reach of prominent conservatives on the platform.

The evidence published by Jordan is in the form of meeting notes that were recently turned over to Congress by Facebook’s parent company Meta.

According to a letter reported by the Washington Examiner, the House Judiciary Committee has now also launched an investigation into a leftist “misinformation” tracking group.

The group, the UK’s Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), is also being sued by X Corp., formerly Twitter.

As Slay News reported earlier, Elon Musk’s X Corp. is accusing CCDH of running a campaign to “scare” advertisers away from Twitter over its free speech agenda.

Jordan has given the pro-censorship organization until August 17 to turn over records that could detail the extent of its ties to the Biden White House.

“We know from the Facebook Files that the Center for Countering Digital Hate was working with the White House to censor speech,” said a senior GOP congressional aide.

“But how far did it go?

“Republicans want to find out, and of course, subpoenas are on the table if we don’t get answers.”

Jordan’s letter, which was first obtained by the Washington Examiner, is the latest escalation of the GOP’s efforts to investigate how the federal government has, in some cases, coordinated with the private sector to flag certain speech, including speech related to COVID-19, as “disinformation” or “misinformation.”

The chairman has recently been publicizing subpoenaed documents from Facebook, now called Meta.

The documents show how the platform kept in close contact with the Biden admin on content moderation.

Further sets of emails were produced in connection to that subpoena, which have not been reported on until now and were shared with the Washington Examiner.

They shed light on CCDH’s influence among top Facebook staffers and the highest levels of government.

In April 2021, a Facebook employee cited the CCDH’s March 2021 report titled “The Disinformation Dozen” in an email thread dubbed “Vaccine policy.”

The email alleged that there “are twelve anti-vaxxers who play leading roles in spreading digital misinformation about COVID vaccines.”

One of the “anti-vaxxers” identified was presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“We also continue to see pressure from partners and policymakers, including the White House, to remove entities that are seen to be contributing to a large amount of vaccine misinformation content (commonly referred to as the ‘disinformation dozen’ which CCDH asserts are responsible for 73% of vaccine misinformation on Facebook),” the employee’s email continues.

“We continue to monitor these entities on-platform, and are reviewing the off-platform as well, but do not believe we currently have a clear path for removal of these.”

In his letter to CCDH’s CEO, Imran Ahmed, Jordan writes: “We are interested in understanding the interactions between the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) and the federal government in particular, as well as between CCDH and social media companies.”

“CCDH claims that ‘social media companies erode basic human rights and civil liberties by enabling the spread of online hate and disinformation,’” the letter adds.

On Thursday, Jordan dropped a Twitter thread full of evidence showing the Biden administration’s collusion with Facebook to suppress conservative speech.

(SNews) – Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) got heckled while hosting a town hall with his own constituents, video shows.

The incident occurred at the end of July, with some in the crowd shouting at him about his past relationship with a Chinese Communist Party spy.

Swalwell was speaking about the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade and how “it’s government-mandated pregnancies.”

The congressman then told the audience he’s “for women and their freedom…and that is where I think we will end up on this.”

It was at this point that the heckling started.

“Where’s Fang Fang?” a man shouted while others in the crowd tried to get things under control.

Rep. Mark Desaulnier (D-CA) and others tried to shout over the heckler, screaming: “Be respectful.”

“Let my colleague finish, please,” Swalwell said at one point.

According to the former FBI official from the counterintelligence world, the FBI had FISA surveillance up & running on Fang (who was targeting numerous politicians in California & elsewhere, including Swalwell), according to the source, and so many of her actions & communications were being intercepted & monitored.

The FISA related to suspicions that Fang was an agent of a foreign power (China).

The FBI did not believe Fang was a Chinese intelligence officer herself, but rather a willing tool of Chinese intel services.

Fang was on the radar of the CIA and the NSA, as well as the bureau.

The FBI believed MSS also knew members of Fang’s family.

The FBI further opened a parallel public corruption case directly related to all of this and made Swalwell a subject of the case, according to the source, including looking into the possibilities of illegal foreign donations from the Chinese government, possible quid pro quo, and possible bribery (important to note that Swalwell was never charged with any wrongdoing and that the House Ethics Committee ended its own investigation into this earlier this year).

Fang was involved in fundraising activity for Swalwell’s 2014 re-election campaign, and FBI agents believed that Fang facilitated a small ($100 or $200 range) illegal foreign donation to Swalwell, according to the source.

The congressman’s D.C. office also provided an internship for Fang’s family friend, per the source, with the FBI believing the internship was provided as a favor to Fang.

Swalwell was soon named to the House Intelligence Committee by Nancy Pelosi, and this prompted the FBI’s top leadership (colloquially known as the FBI’s 7th Floor) to decide to provide Swalwell with a defensive briefing in 2015, which effectively shut down the dual investigations by the bureau.

(SNews) – Barack Obama visited the White House for a private lunch where he warned Joe Biden about President Donald Trump’s massive popularity ahead of the 2024 election, according to reports.

Insiders reportedly told the Washington Post that, during their secret White House meeting, Obama promised Biden he would do everything he could do all he could to help the Democrat president get reelected in 2024.

Shortly after the meeting, President Trump was hit with politically motivated charges, according to the report.

The insiders reportedly told the Post that Obama was careful not to hurt Biden’s feelings so instead he focused on how strong Trump still is.

Obama warned Biden that Trump could be a more formidable candidate than many Democrats realize.

“Obama was visiting the White House for what Biden aides described as a regular catch-up between the two men who served in the White House together for eight years,” the Post reports.

“During their lunch, Obama made it clear his concerns were not about Biden’s political abilities, but rather a recognition of Trump’s iron grip on the Republican Party, according to the people.”

Eric Schultz, a senior adviser to Obama, said:

“We place a huge emphasis on finding creative ways to reach new audiences, especially tools that can be directly tied to voter mobilization or volunteer activations.

“We are deliberate in picking our moments because our objective is to move the needle.”

“President Biden is grateful for his unwavering support, and looks forward to once again campaigning side-by-side with President Obama to win in 2024 and finish the job for the American people,” TJ Ducklo, a spokesman for the Biden campaign, said.

According to The Washington Post:

Obama, who remains highly popular among Democrats, is his party’s most sought-after surrogate, although his exact role in the 2024 cycle has not yet been determined.

Obama aides say the former president is likely to reprise his playbook from recent elections.

In 2020 and 2022, Obama held large rallies in swing states, hosted fundraisers for Biden and other Democratic candidates, and cut ads in some of the most competitive congressional races.

He also appeared in nontraditional settings aimed at connecting with young voters, such as ESPN’s Manningcast during “Monday Night Football,” collaborations with TikTok influencers, and an interview during the NBA Finals.

…Obama is slated to ramp up his political activity in the coming months, starting with a fundraiser later in August in Martha’s Vineyard to benefit the National Democratic Redistricting Committee.

That group, launched by Eric Holder, who was attorney general under Obama, aims to combat Republicans’ success in drawing legislative and congressional districts.
