The FBI conducted a search at a business and offices belonging to Jody Owens, a prosecutor in Mississippi who receives funding from George Soros. The raid took place on Wednesday, with federal law enforcement officials seizing evidence at Downtown Cigar Company in Jackson, which is owned by Owens. Additionally, the FBI also searched Owens’ offices at the Hinds County Courthouse. Owens, who serves as the Hinds County district attorney, had a campaign that was heavily supported by Soros, a prominent Democrat megadonor. According to a statement from FBI Public Information Officer Marshay Lawson:

“The FBI is executing federal search warrants at the multiple locations. The affidavit in support of the search warrants has been sealed by the court and so I am prohibited from commenting further. There is no threat to public safety.”

According to reports, BI agents have conducted an examination and confiscated various items discovered at Owens’ downtown Jackson business. The entrance to the Downtown Cigar Company on Pearl Street has been cordoned off with crime scene tape.

Downtown Daiquiri and Pizza, a neighboring business, was also encircled by law enforcement officials. An FBI agent informed the Clarion Ledger that he had been stationed outside of Owens’ establishment for a few hours. In addition to the FBI, Capitol Police were present at the scene.
