Former President Donald Trump has been slapped with a substantial financial penalty of several million dollars in a civil fraud case by Judge Arthur Engoron of New York. On Friday, the judge imposed a hefty $364 million fine on Trump.
Judge Engoron ruled Trump engaged in a “yearslong scheme to dupe banks and others with financial statements that inflated the former president’s wealth.”
“Trump also was barred from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation for three years,” the ruling added.
Trump vehemently criticized the trial, labeling it as a “fraud against me.” Prior to the commencement of the trial, Engoron declared Trump responsible for fraud.
