For the second occasion within a month, President Joe Biden seemingly undermined Vice President Kamala Harris, inadvertently jeopardizing her campaign in favor of the Republican Party.

In late September, during an appearance on “The View,” Biden remarked that he had “delegated [Harris’s] responsibility on everything from foreign policy to domestic policy.” This statement weakened her campaign narrative and the media’s portrayal of her as merely a passive participant in his administration, suggesting that his shortcomings might have been successes had she been in a leadership role.

On Monday night, the president engaged in a conversation with Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis regarding the impending Hurricane Milton. This occurred concurrently with Vice President Harris’s accusations against the governor, claiming he was engaging in political maneuvering by supposedly “refusing” to respond to her phone call. In response, DeSantis refuted the allegation of having “refused” her call, stating during a press conference on the same day that he was not even aware of her attempt to contact him.

Biden commended DeSantis’s handling of the hurricane during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, stating that he is performing exceptionally well, notwithstanding the vice president’s criticism.
