Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has been given the option to continue working on the election interference case involving former President Donald Trump. Despite this, CNN legal affairs correspondent Paula Reid suggests that this development may not be entirely negative for the 45th president. Judge Scott McAfee determined that there was no evidence supporting the claim that Willis had received any improper benefits from hiring Nathan Wade, with whom she had a personal relationship, as a special prosecutor in the case against Trump.

However, McAfee criticized the district attorney for making a significant error in judgment. Although he did not disqualify her from the case, he did establish a condition: either Willis or Wade must withdraw from the case to avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest. Reid also highlighted the judge’s criticism of Willis’ unprofessional conduct during a hearing regarding the question of her disqualification.
