President Joe Biden criticized the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and seemed to imply that it will gain a deeper understanding of the political influence of women.
During his State of the Union address, Biden said, “Many of you in this chamber, and my predecessor, are promising to pass a national ban on reproductive freedom. My God, what freedom else would you take away?”
“Since the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade the Supreme Court majority wrote the following, and with all due respect justices, ‘Women are not without electoral power’ — excuse me, ‘Electoral or political power.’”
“You’re about to realize just how right about that,” Biden said.
He also said “those bragging about overturning Roe v. Wade have no clue about the power of women.”
Watch:
Biden attacks the justices sitting before him who don't have a way to respond.
I'm old enough to remember during the Trump years this would be reported by the media as an attempt to tear down American institutions. pic.twitter.com/o429qNrz91— Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) March 8, 2024
