Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, made it clear to reporters that the press gaggle was off the record multiple times, until the voice of former President Barack Obama was heard.
Jean-Pierre was heard saying, “I want to make sure we’re all aware that this is off the record. Off the record. Off the record. Off the record.”
Right afterward, Obama’s voice can be heard saying, “Hey people! How’s it going everybody?”
The recording was promptly cut off before anything further could be heard.
