Officials have reported finding explosive substances in both the car and residence of the deceased individual believed to have tried to assassinate ex-President Donald Trump.

CNN, quoting “multiple law enforcement sources,” reported Sunday that the “FBI has publicly identified the gunman as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Authorities say he fired multiple shots from a building rooftop just outside the rally venue before he was killed by Secret Service agents.”

The FBI has confirmed that the shooting incident targeting former President Donald Trump following his rally in Butler, Pa., on Saturday afternoon was classified as an “assassination attempt.” However, the bureau has not identified a motive for the attack yet.

In the meantime, a headline published by the left-leaning news network CNN sparked anger among followers of ex-President Trump after an incident that is said to have been an assassination attempt on his life. Trump narrowly escaped death during a gathering in Butler, Pa., on Saturday afternoon, as per reports from the FBI. A bullet barely missed hitting the ex-president’s right ear, leading to him collapsing on the ground, with a number of Secret Service agents swiftly shielding him.

A CNN headline followed shortly afterward: “Secret Service rushes Trump off stage after he falls at rally.”
