Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had repeatedly requested secret service protection from the Biden administration, but his requests were denied. This decision is particularly concerning given the history of political assassinations in the Kennedy family.

Kennedy’s concerns were tragically validated when an armed individual, posing as a federal marshal, appeared at one of his campaign events. The event took place with the Hispanic community in Los Angeles, where the armed man was detained by security and subsequently arrested by the police. He was found in possession of a handgun and ammunition.

Upon his arrival at the event, the individual claimed to be affiliated with the organizers, but campaign security did not recognize him and apprehended him until law enforcement arrived.

Kennedy Jr. expressed his gratitude, stating:

“I’m very thankful that the vigilant and quick-acting security personnel from Gavin de Becker and Associates (GDBA) identified and detained an armed individual who attempted to approach me during my Hispanic Heritage speech at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles tonight.”

“The man, wearing two shoulder holsters with loaded pistols and spare ammunition magazines was carrying a U.S. Marshal badge on a lanyard and beltclip federal ID.

“He identified himself as a member of my security detail.

“Armed GDBA team members moved quickly to isolate and detain the man until LAPD arrived to make the arrest.

“I’m also grateful to LAPD for its rapid response.

“I’m still entertaining a hope that President Biden will allow me Secret Service protection.

“I am the first presidential candidate in history to whom the White House has denied a request for protection.”
