Former federal prosecutor Katie Cherkasky raised concerns about the legality of the gag order imposed on former President Donald Trump during an appearance on Fox News. Cherkasky suggested that Democrats may be apprehensive about turning Trump into a symbol of civil rights. Cherkasky joined “Jesse Watters Primetime” to address the repeated violations of the gag order by Trump in his ongoing trial with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Judge Juan Merchan recently found Trump in violation of the gag order for the 10th time and cautioned that further breaches could result in jail time for the former president. Fox host Jesse Watters inquired about Cherkasky’s thoughts on the possibility of Trump being incarcerated following the warning from Judge Merchan.
“Well, I think that the Democrats are in a very tough position now,” Cherkasky stated. “They’re stuck between their dream of finally seeing Trump behind bars and now the nightmare that he’ll become some sort of civil rights martyr when he gets put in there. But it’s probably the most likely chance that they’ll see him behind bars based on the prosecution presentation so far.”
