During an interview on Sunday, Snoop Dogg expressed his utmost admiration and appreciation for former President Donald Trump. Engaging in a comprehensive conversation with Jonathan Dean, a journalist from the UK Sunday Times, the renowned rapper openly declared his affectionate sentiments towards the individual who aspires to reclaim the presidency in 2024, accompanied by a lighthearted chuckle:

“Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris.

[…] So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.”

Harris, one of the founders of Snoop’s initial record label, Death Row, was incarcerated for drug-related offenses when he was granted freedom by the former president, as reported by Breitbart News.

During that time, Trump issued over 100 pardons, including clemency for Harris, who was serving his sentence at the Lompoc Federal Correctional Institution in California. Harris, who was scheduled to be released in 2028, had been convicted of attempted murder and cocaine trafficking over thirty years ago.

Despite Harris’ lawyers’ unsuccessful attempts to secure his release by citing his autoimmune disorder and the COVID-19 pandemic, he was ultimately granted clemency.

Snoop Dogg’s recent expression of respect for Trump starkly contrasts with some of his previous actions. In 2017, he starred in a politically-charged music video where he aimed a gun at a parody clown version of President Donald Trump and “shot” him, as reported by Breitbart News.

The music video for “Lavender,” a song initially released by BADBADNOTGOOD and Kaytranada’s IV, depicted a clown-faced President “Ronald Klump” holding a press conference where he announced a plan to “deport all dogs.”

This dog deportation plan prompted Snoop Dogg and a group of armed men to ambush the parody President Trump. Snoop aimed a gun at Trump’s head and pulled the trigger, resulting in a giant “BANG” flag popping out.
