President Joe Biden introduced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday at the NATO Summit in Washington, DC, but corrected himself seconds later with an incoherent explanation. Questions about Biden’s health and political viability will be fueled by the embarrassing gaffe. The party’s presumed nominee should be tossed out, according to some Democrats.
“Now, I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination,” Biden said as he introduced Zelensky. “Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin.”
“President Putin,” Biden corrected himself. “He’s going to beat President Putin — President Zelensky.”
“I’m so focused on beating Putin, we got to worry about it. Anyway…”
