During a presidential campaign event for Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, radical climate activists stormed the stage. DeSantis has made a campaign promise to boost American energy production, which has faced opposition from leftist “climate change” activists and green agenda organizations. These climate activists disrupted the event multiple times, with one incident involving a leftist individual rushing the stage with a banner. The candidate’s armed security swiftly tackled the protester.
This incident took place in Ames, Iowa, the home of Iowa State University, prompting a sarcastic comment from DeSantis about the state of college campuses.
The protesters were later identified as members of the Sunrise Movement, a climate activist group. According to Fox News, while delivering a speech to Iowa voters, Gov. DeSantis was interrupted by a protester attempting to unfurl a yellow and black banner that accused him of being a “CLIMATE CRIMINAL.” The armed security guards in plainclothes swiftly apprehended the activist before they could fully display the banner.
The radical shouted “Ron DeSantis is a climate criminal” and “How much money are you taking from oil companies?” as he was was being kicked out.
A voter in the audience yelled, “That’s what’s wrong with our colleges.”
DeSantis then responded, “That is (what’s) wrong with the college system right there. That’s exhibit A.”
During the campaign event, there was another instance where a protester interrupted DeSantis, persistently demanding his “strategy to combat the climate crisis.” However, the candidate swiftly responded, “Pardon me, I am currently engaged in this.” The protester pretended to ask a harmless question but persisted in interrupting until security intervened and escorted him away, while DeSantis held his ground.
“You’re interrupting and you’re being rude.
“Everyone else is listening.
“And you’re butting in. I don’t care.
“I know you have an agenda.
“I know you have an agenda. Stop.”
